What is Old is New: Islamic Culture Workshop for Kids

(North Adams, Mass.)-- As one of the oldest existing cultures in the world, Islamic culture has greatly influenced our own culture. Our everyday lives exhibit this influence at every turn from textiles, to body adornment, to manuscripts and books, contemporary music and art. In this workshop kids will have a chance to discover how influenced we are by Islamic culture. Kids can create stencils, handbooks, prints and stencils for body adornment inspired by Islamic culture. Kids will learn to appreciate the beauty of the Islamic culture in this truly educational workshop. "What is Old is New: Islamic Culture" will take place in the rehearsal hall on Saturday, October 23 from 1-2:30 P.M. and is open to children ages 6 and up.
