Iron and Wine, the musical vehicle of acclaimed singer-songwriter Sam Beam, returns to MASS MoCA on Sunday, June 22, at 6pm. Beam performed at the museum in 2011, to a sold-out crowd.

Marking its debut on Nonesuch records, Iron and Wine released Ghost on Ghost in April 2013, its fifth release. The album was produced by Beam’s longtime associate, Brian Deck (Modest Mouse, Califone, Fruit Bats), and follows 2011’s Kiss Each Other Clean. The new album has received early praise, with NPR Music calling Beam “a songwriter versatile enough to pack huge ideas into simple arrangements and vice versa.”

Country duo The Secret Sisters set the scene for Iron and Wine with an opening performance. In support of its April release, "Put Your Needle Down," the duo performs retro harmonies reminiscent of the 1940s and ‘50s.

“The best tunes here are the kind of dreams that will stay on your mind long after waking.” — Rolling Stone

Iron and Wine's performance at MASS MoCA is sponsored by No Depression
