Izhar Patkin collaborated with the late Kashmiri-American poet, Agha Shahid Ali (1949–2001), on his series of “veil” paintings, transforming Ali’s musings on love and loss into visual form. Join us Thursday, April 24, at 6pm among the works his writings inspired for an intimate reading of ghazal poems popularized by Ali. The reading is co-organized by Agha Iqbal Ali, the poet’s brother and University of Massachusetts professor, who will read 4 poems. Other readers include Nikhil Melnechuk, Co-Executive Director of the Bowery Arts + Science and Ranbir Singh Sidhu, writer of plays, stories and novels including Good Indian Girls.
