A Half Century Project of Imagination
In 1963 Jerry Gretzinger doodled a map of a small imaginary town.
His sketch took on a life of its own and today comprises over 2,600
hand-crafted panels spanning a jawdropping 2,000 square feet. The
world depicted evolves and shape-shifts as he works and re-works a
panel every day.
Get to know the artist behind this incredible project at this meet and greet. Ask Gretzinger about the elaborate
game of chance he's devised to determine the outcome of the map, the making of Greg Whitmore's documentary film about Gretzinger, and any other questions this exhibition sparks in you.

certain kind of
genius. He's a
world-builder.” -Mother Nature
