Legendary composer Steve Reich returns for a 6-hour boundary-busting, ear-pleasing, innovative concert and gathering of music lovers. Featuring over 50 musicians and composers from around the world, this concert is one of the most diverse, open, and exciting summer music events in the Berkshires. Ticket-holders are welcome to come and go as they please and enjoy food and drinks plus ice cream from Lickety Split between songs throughout the concert.
Steve Reich will be on hand to hear his hard-rocking 2x5 (premiered and recorded by Bang on a Can), the ever-popular Eight Lines, and a rare performance of Cello Counterpoint, played live by eight cellists. The performance will also feature George Crumb's virtuosic and eerie Ancient Voices of Children, Lou Harrison's wild and lyrical Violin Concerto, plus music by Hans Abrahamsen, Dan Becker, Jeffrey Brooks, David Crowell, Michael Gordon, Lou Harrison, David Lang, Missy Mazzoli, Pauline Oliveros, Giacinto Scelsi, Julia Wolfe, and more. Read the lineup! Read the line-up!
Check out the museum, too! Galleries open until 8:00 pm.
