Chris Cobb: A Changing Exhibition of Photographs

Sep 1, 2010–Dec 31, 2011
Galleries

Over six months during the Spring and Summer of 2008, 65 artists and assistants took up residency in Building 7. They sharpened pencils, calculated curves, drafted lines, taped, painted and scribbled in order to translate 105 of Sol LeWitt’s written instructions into wall drawings. During the course of the installation one of the drawing installers, Chris Cobb, photographed his coworkers. Some of those pictures will be presented at MASS MoCA in rotation over the next year. Taking advantage of the abundant natural light that floods the building every day, the images were made with no flash. The photographs are Lightjet prints on Fuji Crystal Archive Paper, a continuous tone dark room processing method using digital image source material instead of a film negative.
