Jacob's Pillow and MASS MoCA present this stellar group of performers brings the high spirits and contagious rhythms of the authentic Cuban Rumba to the Berkshires, blending African roots with Latin American influences. Formed in 1952, Los Muñequitos is one of Cuba's most celebrated bands and features 16 drummers, vocalists and dancers -- including three generations of one family. Nominated for a Grammy Award in 2001, the company returns to the U.S. for the first time in nearly 10 years for two can't-sit-still performances. The program is in two parts: Orishas and Rhumba.
