Etiquette: A Rotozaza Production
Fri, October 2 - Sun, October 4
MASS MoCA, North Adams, MA
$20 for two people.
For this intimate piece of participatory theater, two museum visitors sit across from each other at a small table in Lickety Split, MASS MoCA’s café , put on headphones, and act out a recorded script. Etiquette recently stole the show at New York City’s groundbreaking Under the Radar Festival. The 30-minute play pivots around several poignant micro situations, many of them borrowed from well-know film and theater scenes. The experience for the two participants is intense, but because the scene is quiet and conversational, others in the public space are often unaware that anything is happening at all. “Gripping... If the line between audience and performer seems blurred, Rotozaza’s Etiquette erases it entirely." – International Herald Tribune.
